Because sometime an acrostic poem is the best way to communicate our feelings about homeschooling.

An Acrostic Poem for Our New Homeschool Year
“Homeschool Begins” An Acrostic Poem
How I look forward to our co-op this year
Ordered curriculum has mostly arrived
Maybe we will start some subjects before “school” officially begins
Even though I’m still enjoying the summer
So much of our learning will happen with friends and I’m glad
‘Cause my son likes learning with pals, and I like group discussions
Heading into new territory with some video lecture resources for science this year
Often a new approach is a really good thing
Otherwise I get stuck in a rut and we don’t learn much but we feel a lot of frustration
Like yesterday (it seems) this son of mine was starting Kindergarten…and now he is a high school junior!

Books are chosen for literature, and as always I am more psyched than he is
Exercise science and nutrition have him pumped more than his mama
Getting school supplies at Staples never ceases to make my heart beat faster
I have two years left before my homeschool journey with this child ends
Never may I take this calling and blessing for granted
Since I cannot imagine our life any other way
